Keeping up with the Jones’s can be tough these days, especially with the current state of the economy. No, no, I am not here to offer you ways around that predicament but what I can offer are some details about Vertu Elegant ’s new Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber cell phone collection. Handcrafted in England, and limited to just 1,500 units, the Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber collection includes four different styles; the Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber Limited Edition, Carbon Fiber Grip, Carbon Fiber & Aluminum Grip and Carbon Fiber and Copper Grip. Here is where the Jones’s relate to this, the Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber Limited Edition is going for $9,800, quite a pretty penny.
Vertu, headquartered in the United Kingdom and founded in 1998, is a manufacturer and retailer of luxury phones. Vertu is a premium division of Nokia and they release a new motorsport special edition phone annually. In previous years, they released Ferrari editions and Racetrack Legends series.
Engineers used sophisticated and intricate design methods in the production of the Carbon Fiber collection. Being one of the world’s most coveted high-end materials, Carbon Fiber requires a lengthy process in order to achieve the perfect look. For this collection, the 1k weave width was tailor made and used by means of a twill carbon fiber weave process which resulted in the diagonal rib appearance.
Vertu, a luxury mobile phone brand, plans to release the new Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber phone in August. The handset, which is just as fancy as it sounds, is crafted out of the same high-performance material renowned in motorsport and aerospace industries for its strength-to-weight ratio Vertu, which is owned by Nokia, said the new handset has been tested to ensure the fibers and resin are processed to achieve a uniform look on both the flat and curved surfaces. The phone, which features a diagonal rib design, was achieved by using a twill carbon fiber weave process. The handset also has a sapphire crystal screen and a chassis made of high-grade titanium -- a non-corrosive element. The company's Carbon Fiber Collection will also include the Carbon Fiber Grip, Carbon Fiber & Aluminum Grip and Carbon Fiber & Copper Grip devices.
While we know the Vertu Ascent Ti Carbon Fiber will be available in August, we don't yet know how much it will cost, but it most likely won't be cheap.
